You Should See Me in a Crown
by Leah Johnson
Liz runs into a problem when she does not get the scholarship she was counting on. However, the Prom Queen receives a scholarship, which could be the solution she needs. Only, Liz has always believed she's too black, too poor, too awkward to shine in her small, rich, prom-obsessed midwestern town. Luckily with the help of her friends, they design a plan for Liz to win. Liz also meets - and takes a liking towards - Mack, the new girl who is also running for Prom Queen.
I loved this book! It has a cute sapphic romance. I loved listening about Liz and her friends strategising how Liz was doing in the ratings. The audiobook had a great narrator, too, Alaska Jackson that made listening even better. Overall, I really enjoyed You Should See Me in a Crown and wholeheartedly recommend it to you if you love (YA) romance and prom-related stories.
