Most of the rating is just in the fact that I found this story to have some of the most interesting and realistic family relationship dynamics I've seen in a cnovel. Neither of their families are perfect and in some cases the relationship is strained but they haven't cut all ties and there's still that feeling of 'as much as what you did hurt me, I still love you and I know you still love me' that is present in a lot of families. The ML has the harder relationship strain to overcome but he's not completely closing himself off. I liked that bit of it. The rest of it was very meh. It's a light, fluffy novel otherwise. It does make it a bit difficult sometimes because the tonal shifts are a bit odd and the story veers between fluff and serious drama and some of seemed to come out of left field. I'm not sure I actually liked it, but it wasn't a bad read.
Minor: Grief, Death of parent
The MC is 18 and the ML is 27. A lot of emphasis is put on how the ML treats the MC like a child despite the fact that they're married. In addition, the ML has a lot of control over the MC's life and rarely consults him or discusses with him the decisions he makes about the MC's life.
