I wanted to enjoy this book but just couldn't connect. The diversity was refreshing and world building cool. The MC is a great feminist icon. I felt there were a lot of surprise plot twists which got to be too much by the end. I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I hoped. I also wished for a bit more romance tension. The beginning and end move so quick that the middle felt slow in comparison.
