The Ones We Fight For by Katie Golightly
4.0

Walker was recently appointed guardianship of his 5 nieces and nephews, following their parents passing. Talia recently moved back to Oregon to take ownership of her dad’s grocery store, following his passing.

The two have a pretty disastrous meet cute and then continue to run into each other everywhere around town. The grocery store, the coffee shop… soon they are admitting that maybe they can be friends. While the love grows, so does love (tainted by many mental health struggles respectively)

The Ones We Fight For is a great reminder to fight for the friends & family that you have, fight for the ones that you love. But also remember to love yourself along the way.

I gave this a solid 4 stars - I love the found family, the relationships, the reminder to always communicate. I love the therapy because that is something that is not talked about enough. However, the slow burn between Talia and Walker felt a little too slow. I kept hoping that they would admit their feelings to each other because you could feel that the chemistry was there from the beginning.

Overall, I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more books by her.

Thank you Katie for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest & 100% unbiased review.
