This was a cute story about an aspiring unicorn keeper. There was a lot of phrase repetition, things like "a wave of pride washed over me", and the characters/relationships felt pretty flat. There was also a lot of hypocrisy from the FMC and some pretty negative, stereotypical gender portrayals that seemed unnecessary. 

Overall, though, it was a cute novella and I liked how the author chose to end it. I read this for a readathon competition, and I do not expect I'll finish the series.
