The Mamas: What I Learned about Kids, Class, and Race from Moms Not Like Me
by Helena Andrews-Dyer
I really enjoyed this book. It’s part memoir with a little DC neighborhood history and really speaks to the heart of mothering but also mothering while black, when you’re the only one in a white washed parenting group. I’m neither black nor a mother so I enjoyed the peak into perspectives I’ll never have but hopefully can gain empathy from.
