This is a tough one to review because while the story and the characters are pretty well developed, and it is an engaging story, I think the art style pulls away from that. It is very hard to follow what's going on becuase of the way the pages are organized, which took away from my reading experience. Sometimes chaotic can be fine in a graphic novel, but it needs to be clear from the beginning how the story is supposed to be read.
There were also a few story elements that I wish were focused on more. Jay clearly isn't a huge fan of Double Dutch, and while that apect of the story was interesting, I wanted to hear more about their music interests. All in all, this was just an okay reading experience for me.
