I overall enjoyed this read, and I thought most of the characters seemed real and believable. It did not seem believable to me, though, that a random guy who'd never done anything with babies before would just be a natural pseudo-father without any difficulty. I would've liked more memories of the mother and sister who had passed away so they didn't feel like just plot device martyrs.
