The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey
4.0

I devoured 'The Quarry Girls' by Jess Lourey in one sitting! This book is a gripping and atmospheric thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The story is set in the 1970s in a small Minnesota town, and Lourey perfectly captures the era and the isolated, eerie atmosphere of the quarry. The characters are well-developed and complex, particularly the protagonist, Fern, who is both relatable and flawed.

The plot is expertly woven, with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Lourey tackles themes of friendship, loyalty, and the darker side of human nature with skill and nuance.

My only criticism is that some of the supporting characters felt a bit underdeveloped, and I would have loved more backstory on them. However, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding book.

Overall, I highly recommend 'The Quarry Girls' to fans of mystery, thriller, and suspense. It's a compelling and unputdownable read that will stay with you long after you finish the book.
