this book was such an original concept and i really enjoyed reading this! it was hard hitting and so beautifully written. the whole book was a metaphor entangled in whimsical fantasy and creatures that come out of paintings. pet is a book focused on monsters that hide in plain sight and how difficult it can be to find them, even when you know they’re there. beautiful. powerful. and an essential read.
