I had my doubts starting this one. I’m not sure if it was the overload of information or just the after holiday fuzz, but I couldn’t quite picture the world as it was being described. But I loved Gideon (aka Griddle), so I kept going. And I am so glad I did. Part dark academia, part necromancy/magical, and a whole lot of sarcasm kept me going through this book. I did not want to put it down! That ending though… have the next one ready!
