They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman

Audiobook - I will admit that this one was a hard to get into via audiobook. Too many characters mentioned and the going back and forth between past and present. But once I got it all straight I was sold and so invested! This was my first thriller to listen to and won’t be my last. Jill, a senior who is in an elite club at her private high school still dealing with the death of her best friend 3 years prior. Throughout the book we learn of the rituals of the new recruits and how they are being gazed all while Jill reliving her own & others hazings which ultimately killed Shalia. We are led to believe that Shalia’s killer is locked up but new clues state otherwise & the guessing game begins! I am looking forward to seeing this adaptation to screen.
