Wow, this book... the age-gap was great - I adore the slow build and while the "I'm too old for you" plays a part, it doesn't feel long and drawn out. I also like that they genuinely become friends, his grumpy to her sunshine (or maybe we'll call her mostly sunny) and while there may have always been an attraction between them, it wasn't the immediate dive into something that often happens.

cheating on her boyfriend though... I do wish she would have broken up with him sooner instead of lying about where she was and the fact that she was clearly emotionally involved with Thayer even if not physically at that point (forgetting about the hotel thing, because that was an unconscious act).

I will say that the ending of the book had me floored... I understand why this wasn't made more obvious a TW as it's obviously a huge plot twist that you're not supposed to see coming. I was accidentally spoiled by some fan art though, but when I got to this part it was STILL too much.

Overall, I really loved this angsty, romantic read. There are LOTS of feels, many TWs (don't sleep on these, they're pretty intense), but it was a book that really worked for me and my mood at the time.
