This was such a raw and empowering story. BUT WHY WAS IT SO SHORT? I feel like this story could have gone on for hours and I’m sad that it ended so quickly.

I got so frustrating about how things were handled and it’s so so sad that this happens in real life. My heart truly cried. The love interest in this story was relatable to me because I was in an interracial relationship for three years so putting myself in SJ’s shoes was easy for me and I felt exactly how she did.

I’m really glad I decided to pick this up on audio and there’s just something about listening to audiobooks relating to topics of race and injustice that make you feel so many deep feelings all at the same time.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It puts your mind in a different perspective and is a story that everyone needs to hear.
