WOW. How rare it is to be so equally entertained AND informed. I learned so much about ineffective "cures" of the times and how, like in the time of the Spanish flu and the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, national morale (and morals where anti-AIDS persons were concerned) was seen as a priority despite high fatality rates. It was sickening to read how over hundreds of years communicable diseases are so socially disparaging but Jennifer Wright has a fabulous sense of humor and frequently inserted modern day notes/asides and oodles of sarcasm to make the worrisome statistics (like how even now we don't know how to cure the Spanish flu should it come back into our existence) go down much easier.
