Sabotage on the Solar Express by M.G. Leonard, Sam Sedgman
5.0

The Adventures on Trains series excels at Agatha Christie style mysteries for kids. Sabotage on the Solar Express shakes this up a bit by taking pretty overt inspiration from the action movie Speed, and it really, really works.

The book gripped me from the very beginning and I sped through it. It was, tense, gripping and exciting, with once again great characters and lots of supporting illustrations. I do think that the story was missing a bit of logic - the actions of the villain of the piece don't quite make sense - but I didn't really care as I was having so much fun.

It's easily the best in the series, even better than Kidnap on the California Comet which was previously my favourite. I loved it.
