I can not believe I waited so long to read this amazingly wonderful book. It’s this generation's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You see, a town has been without a library for 12 years. And because of a wealthy benefactor, Mr. Lemoncello, a new one was built and is about to open. But Mr. Lemoncello is likes to play games. So much so that he built the biggest and most popular gaming company ever. And since the library was so important to him growing up, he has decided it it time to give back.

But what fun would it be to just open a library? (Lots of fun if you ask me.) But he wants something bigger. He had his head librarian turn his library into a giant game board. And the best part, she didn’t tell him how to play. Now 12 kids, who won an essay contest, get to not only sleep over in the library opening night, but have to play the game to get out. And the evil genius part, the kids knew nothing about the game going in. They didn’t know until they tried to leave in the morning.

This book was a lot of fun. Willy Wonka would be proud, and it can be shelved with the Westing game no problem. The only thing better is that this book got a sequel. Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics. I know what is going on my TBR pile!
