Who Wants Music on Monday
by Mary Stolz, Mary Stolz
Still not completely sure how I feel abot this book. I've long felt I should read some Stolz, and I can't argue with her skill as a writer. In a way, the book is a family portrait--of a dysfunctional family at the edge of the 1960s. There were a few things I really liked (the college scenes, Cassie softening), but there were many times I would have liked to have reached into the book and slapped some sense into the characters (the mother, Lotta). Plot was slim, but the characters were certainly richly drawn.
Good enough to check out more Stolz at some point, but not good enough to hang onto the book.
