What a terrifying novel? I read this book as a young woman and I simply could not put it down! The things discussed were so foreign to me that I don't think I could ever forget reading something so realistic. I recommend this book to all secondary aged children - like middle school and early high school years. I can see why the text is not taught in schools - it's simply too gritty - but the novel itself is more than enough to keep one thinking about their actions for nights to come.
