Gosh, I love everything Taylor Jenkins Reid writes. "Malibu Rising" is the story of four siblings, the estranged children of world-famous rockstar, Mick Riva. The novel takes place over the course of one day, leading up to Nina Riva's huge annual party in her Malibu cliffside mansion. While, yes, it's a fun beach read, it also examines generational trauma and found family. For fans of "Daisy Jones and the Six" and "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" there are enough easter eggs in "Malibu Rising" to fill your basket. I had a wonderful time reading this book and I know it will be a Summer must-read.
