AHH. THIS BOOK MADE ME SO HAPPY.

First off, there were a few little things that bothered me and it wasn’t perfect. I had trouble getting into this book because some of the dialogue felt a bit...off? to me for some reason I can’t really explain, and I actually didn’t like Elliot all too much in the beginning.

BUT WHOA. The second half of the book was SO GOOD. I was just grinning like an IDIOT throughout the entirety of Part 4 because everything was just so CUTE and also heartbreaking and also funny and also adorable and all the feelings.

I LOVED Luke- that precious smol bean-and Elliot ended up REALLY growing on me and I loved him as a narrator. He’s so funny. I was laughing out loud for a lot of this just based on his reactions and witticisms. I was super happy with their ending and they’re just tooth-rottingly sweet. I loved the harpies and the mermaid friend and the commander. Such a cute book and now I understand all the hype I’ve seen about this! Gah, it’s so cute.
