M J Porter’s historical mysteries are interesting and compelling, well plotted stories set during WWII.
This is the second I read and I thoroughly enjoyed it as it’s a solid mystery and the historical background is vivid and well researched.
This is an entertaining mystery but it’s also a good way to learn something more about life in UK in 1944.
Mason, O’Rourke and the cast of characters are well developed and likeable. They’re clever and I liked the way they investigated.
I would recommend to read the Custard Corpses before this one even if it can be read as a stand-alone.
I would happy to read other books in this series as I thoroughly enjoyed this one and read it in one afternoon.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to M J Porter and Rachel’s Random Resources for this digital copy, all opinions are mine
