This lives up to its name as a dark and twisty Frankenstein retelling. I would suggest reading the author's note first as it sets the mood for this book even better than the story itself does. The realization that Elizabeth created her own monster while uncovering the clues to what Victor was up to added to this in a way that made it original and yet also stayed true to the original story everyone knows and loves. This book is a great pick for the spooky season and I am already adding this to my list to reread next year!
