Those Other Women
by Nicola Moriarty
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️— Those Other Women by Nicola Moriarty (Out now!) •
Poppy has been deceived by her best friend and her husband. Reeling from these deceptions, Poppy starts a Facebook group called NOP. The group started as a place for women who do not want kids to meet and talk. However, slowly the group begins to fall apart. They have an imposter and the local MOP (mother’s group) wage a war on the NOPs. Can Poppy slow this train down that she has started? •
The synopsis probably sounds like a light fun read. And while I highly enjoyed this read, it is much deeper than it seems. As a woman who does want children, I have been told “You’ll change your mind” or asked “Are you sure?”. It is annoying. And demoralizing. I don’t ask others why they have kids. So when I saw this on @theloudlibrarylady feed, I snatched it up from my local library! •
This book gives a good look at how Mothers and non-mothers constantly judge each other. And the assumptions people make of each other. I will not say more due to wanting to be a non-spoiler. But if you have read this I would love to hear your thoughts! •
