I have finished this book with such a sense of having read a true memoir belonging to a real Hollywood starlet. This was an incredibly well crafted mock biography story. The intricacies and depth that Jenkins Reid included all helped to tell the tale of Evelyn Hugo without making it feel over done, cluttered with detail or unrealistic. The story had turns being humorous, painful, amusing, heartbreaking, uplifting... I finished it having laughed and cried. I am impressed by the accuracy of how the author portrayed bisexuality and the LGBTQ+ experience through several decades. 

This story is easy to get wrapped up in. Yet it is broken up by husband which makes it easy to set it down for a pause. I enjoyed it overall and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romances, especially ones that step back in history.
