As usual, a stunning well-researched work of nonfiction by Heiligman. I wasn't familiar with 'The Children's Ship' before this book, and it's a heartbreaking tragedy. Heiligman chooses to focus on a few families as a guides through the book, which gives the reader people to focus on. I found it fairly easy to keep track of everyone, although occasionally I did confuse a few children that were CORB versus paying passengers. Lovely endnotes as well.

My only complaint is that it is published by a Macmillan imprint and I'm reading it while they are doing their ridiculous ebook thing and I'm just so annoyed by them that I'm reluctant to encourage others to purchase anything by them. So....borrow it from somewhere?
