I found this book to be much more dull than the first one. There was absolutely no character development in my opinion, I felt that instead of becoming a stronger character as the story went on Jude actually became a weaker character. Carsten was the only character I saw a change for the better in (not better like he’s good but he became stronger and developed a mind of his own).
I felt like most of this book was Jude pining or being unsure of herself and that is not at all appealing to me. Then when she is sure of herself she forgets all of her rules and is easily manipulated. It just didn’t work for me.
The ending made up for a bit of the rest of the story but just made Jude seem even weaker as a character to me ... I really hope the next book is better because I didn’t really enjoy this one as much as I’d hoped to.
