Fantastic start to a new series

WOW - this book had me hooked from the first paragraph in the prologue. It’s so well written with engaging and complex characters and the author has shown great care, compassion and knowledge in describing the life of a PTSD survivor.

Marshall was the bullied “weird” kid in high school who returns to his small home town 10 years later as a successful Silicon Valley billionaire.

Fox was one of the popular, cool kids in high school and returns home as a broken Air Force veteran suffering from PTSD. He once stood up for Marshall when he was being beaten by bullies and Marshall had had a bit of a crush on him because of this.

Marshall and Fox are both likeable characters carrying baggage from their pasts. At times my heart broke with what that had both endured. After reconnecting beneath some bushes, Marshall hires Fox as his groundskeeper to assist with the house he’s purchased. This is not an insta love story but there is a connection between them. As their friendship grows, so does the chemistry and the heat level increases dramatically. There is no angst but that doesn’t mean Marshall and Fox don’t have to work hard to get and keep their new found family and their HEA.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for more in this series.
