The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
3.0

I love Dark Academia.
I love the idea of a group of elite people battling their way into a secret society.
I love the vibes and the magic and the world and just the aesthetics overall.
I love the characters each in their own, unique, possibly alarming way.

What I don't love, however, is this book. Or at least, I don't think that I did? I don't really know and I hate feeling that way after finishing a book.

I really enjoyed the first 25% of this book. I personally really enjoy multiple-POV stories so I loved getting to read and learn a little about each of the "Atlas Six" and their magical abilities. It was the middle 50% of the book that I just absolutely could not stand. There was so much repetition and just so much telling but not showing. The things that I wanted to read about weren't there and the things I literally did not care about wouldn't stop..it just kept going on, and on, and on. I was just about to quickly DNF it and then in the last 25% it picked up again and there were a few twist and turns that really had me shook.

I am not sure I'll continue in the series despite the semi-cliff hanger. So, only time will tell.
