Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon
slow-paced

Okay, this is the end of the Outlander series for me.  I finished Drums of Autumn recently and I can't read any more of this series.

About 400 pages into this 1000 page book, I was thinking about this being my last one.  I don't mind long books, but when it seems like the author has forgotten about the plot and is just adding conversations to add conversations, I can't do it.  With the next two books 1500 pages each, I can't do it anymore.  I would rather spend my time reading multiple books in the time it would take me to read one of these.

However, my biggest complaint is the amount of times assault is used as a plot device in this series.  A character is raped in every book of this series and as the series goes on, it becomes more and more graphically described.  At this point, I just feel like I'm reading the same book over and over again just set in a different place.
