Being in his arms is home. I’ve never felt like I had a home until him, and this is one I never want to have to leave.
This book is very far out of my usual reads, but I have a good friend who loves the trilogy and author, so I wanted to give it a try. I’m glad I did. It’s the author’s debut, which you can tell in some ways, but the story is really good, and just super charming. There’s something about the vibe I really enjoyed. You can also tell the author has more than enough talent, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book and seeing the development.
Again, I can’t quite articulate what it is, but I think it kinda gave me the same feeling as I got when I was younger and watching teenage shows, but like an adult version, lol (it’s spicy). I very easily fell in love with the main characters, Harley and Ezra. They’re young men, figuring out what and who they want in life, and suddenly get thrust into fame and contracts and money and fans, etc. I can’t even imagine dealing with that at my age, let alone 19 and 20.
The book (and I’m assuming the trilogy) heavily deals with mental health and especially Harley’s anxiety. I thought the author handled it well, and I could see myself in Harley several times. Again, I’m looking forward to seeing how it all evolves in the second book.

They start in on teasing each other as Harley and I turn towards one another. His eyes are alight with excitement, and his gaze roams my face. I tell my heart to settle the fuck down as it starts racing. What. Is. Happening.
“Sorry,” I mumble. “You don’t need to apologize to me for having emotions.” He reaches up to rub his knuckles along my jaw. “You’re allowed to feel.”
He looks into my eyes and says softly, “I like you… like, a lot.” I smile back at him, “I like you, like, a lot too.”
