dear god this series is so good - I’m very content with my decision to re-read before picking up sunrise 😮‍💨 because damn I love these characters!!!

the first third of this book was a snooze fest - I was very happy to read about katniss’ boring life because SHE DESERVES IT, but there was only so much gale vs peeta action I could handle 🥴 one man sacrificed himself for you a thousand times over in a life or death situation, and the other … denies your gifts even when you’re a millionaire and chooses to stay in danger even though it hurts you… hmmm let’s think about that 🙄

the real stars of this story were finnick and haymitch, and no I will not be taking any comments 🫨 finding out haymitch’s backstory and history in the games was just the beginning of his trauma I fear (stay tuned)

and FINNICK ODAIR THE MAN THAT YOU ARE 😮‍💨 we love a man who puts his own needs aside for the good of others and to mask who he really is at his core!!! I won’t say any more to avoid spoilers, but I want so much more from him!!! he deserves his own book pls

and the cliffhanger? absolutely unmatched! will be binging mockingjay asap
