Honestly disappointed by this one. I've loved every other Terry Brooks I've read, but this was a total miss for me.
It goes in a weird murder mystery direction for so much of the book, which is such an unnatural/uncomfortable pairing with his fantasy writing. There was far too much corporate/business talk for me as well. So many boring conversations about bank accounts and finger print matching.
I enjoyed the youthful feel and nature setting of the 1st book in the series, which I think was well matched with the fantasy elements. But this one went in the totally opposite direction, and I missed all the element I loved from the first.
It also all just feels very dated.
Also, baffled that a demon in DEMON FORM would be scared of police and run away from them?? And the 'plot twist' was so obvious
I would have dnf'd if I wasn't so invested in the series.
