When She's Lonely
by Ruby Dixon
I liked this one a lot. I liked seeing the HOH representation, and it rang truer to me than the previous Deaf representation with Lila (although I’m not HOH/Deaf and can’t say for sure, but Lila’s lip-reading was very off to me sometimes). We already loved Khex from When She Was Bold, and it was nice to see him fleshed out here, plus I love a best friends to lovers story. My only complaint was that it was too short, and therefore a bit rushed.
ETA: and I just read the author’s note at the end of the book, lol. That explains it, solid all around.
