Patrick has a way of telling you emotions and heartbreak in this story without actually saying it.

This was a great way to start out the year.

The only thing unnerving about this book is the childishness of the writing. It is meant to be a middle grade/ young adult novel but there is no eloquence to it making it seem childish.
