This picture book was written by three psychologists who work with families and children, one of whom is Black and works specifically in creating special interventions for minority children, and addresses police shooting a Black man and the questions a kid may have. The story is great, and is from both the perspective of a white child and a Black child speaking to their families. At the back of the book there is a very detailed but easy to go through Notes section that gives adults more information and instruction on how to approach topics like racial justice with children. This was one of the top 10 most challenged books in the US for 2020, and I think it is a very important book.
