The Book was okay... It's my first Sarah J Maas book and my first time diving into this franchise. The beginning was good. I especially enjoyed the dessert story. But I just didn't feel emotionally attached enough to care about the characters and I could really see a lot of story parts coming a mile away.
And the relationship with Arobyn? Like I get it his got this messed up obsession with Celaena, but bloody hell. His described as being close to fifty! His old enough to be her father! And her contemplating what kind of love she saw in his eyes? She contemplated "lover". I get that it's a fantasy world but no just no. It kind of gives the feel that it's trying to be A Song of Ice and Fire. I just feel that type of theme didn't fit this book.
