I really enjoyed this book despite it being very sad. I would actually rate it 4.5 stars. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that I reserve that for my most favorite books. This story is very easy to get sucked into because the subject matter is so shocking and terrible. I was invested and interested in this book from beginning to end and never felt like I had to push myself to keep reading. The character development was very good. I was never confused or bored. I really felt connected to the characters and that doesn’t always happen for me. The author’s writing style is very easy to follow and I would imagine enjoyable to most readers. I am very impressed with this story and highly recommend this book. The subject matter is pretty heavy so get ready to have your heart strings pulled at big time.
