This book starts off like a regular romance novel and then takes a classic over the top Heath plot turn. Both Pettypeace and the duke (Kingsland aka King aka Hugh) have Big Secrets, and the reveals do NOT disappoint. I loved the second half of this, King’s mom, and all of the drama for both of them dealing with their secrets. I loved loved loved Pettypeace, and like King, wanted to rage on her behalf. I do hope that in whatever fictional world they live in, he doesn’t fake her for granted and gets someone to plan and do for her for time to time because she is type A to the max and she deserves REST.
