Never published, not perfected, unfinished and forgotten is the major themes of this short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald. There are some lines of beauty and wit, and some stories are stronger than others. The interesting thing about this collection of works was that Fitzgerald was trying to grow as a writer and not a "one-note wonder" when it came to his short stories. Fitzgerald was trying to go deeper and darker, but the public/publishers wanted what he wrote at the beginning of his career. The problem is that America and Fitzgerald were more realistic and not idyllic as they once were - longing for the past the comfort of the known and not wanting to experience the new.

Uneven writing but worth it.
