The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
5.0

I have become such a big Sarah Dessen fan. Since the first book of hers I picked up, I've been eager to read more and more and more. One thing I really love about her books is that it's not just about the romance. There is some romance, but that's not what it's all about. I also love how each book has something that references another book. Like Tallyho or Spinnerbait. You always feel like you're in the same world because of those references and it makes you continue to connect deeply with each story.

In The Moon and More, Emaline has to discover what's truly important to her. At the same time, she has to come to terms with a doomed parental relationship, a break up, and leaving home to go off to college. It's a lot to take in for one summer and she doesn't always handle things the best. She's still an endearing character, because she never gives up, she's a hard worker and she truly and genuinely cares about other people.

I really enjoyed the ending of this book. It wasn't your typical ending and I appreciated that. It wasn't predictable, but it also fit the story very nicely.
