This is one of those books where you're meant to intensely hate everyone. It's vapid and materialistic. It's a trainwreck, but it's mostly fun.
Very much white beauty standards throughout, but the world of modeling is very still white-western-centered. A lot of sleazy, greasy parts of the modeling industry are delved into here too. Be warned: rape and other sexual assault are present and happen very matter of factly. The situations themselves are disturbing, but the details aren't graphic.
Also, this story has an accurate look at social media, you can see the most graphic tragedies alongside what your friend ate for breakfast and celebrity gossip in three swipes.
I think the author wrote hysteria very well. I don't regret reading this, but it's definitely not going to appeal to everyone.
