The Busy Beaver
by Nicholas Oldland
Beaver is so careless that he makes a mess of the forest, accidentally injures his friends, and leaves a nest of birds homeless when he fells their tree. His thoughtlessness causes a lot of problems, and finally Beaver realizes that he needs to apologize and clean up his mess!
This picture book is adorable! I love the cartoony illustrations with clear lines and bright colors. I love the simple storyline that shows real consequences for your actions, and how your behavior can affect others. It's a great lesson told in a funny story! Beaver made me laugh, and I enjoyed seeing his character growth.
The Beaver is a relatable character, who just doesn't notice how much damage he is causing until he is forced to slow down. I definitely appreciated his character, since I am a person who has a lot of energy. Learning to channel that energy into something productive is a good lesson.
Sweet and hilarious, this book is perfect for reading with young children!
