This was an okay book. I didn’t really like Kick. She was too aggressive at the start and I was a little confused as to why she really wanted. I did like her transformation but I felt the stuff with Nolan, her realisation, came out of the blue to excuse her actions. What happened is never okay, but more framework needed to be laid so it didn’t look so convenient.
I liked Jack. I loved that he was so in touch with his emotions and what he wanted.
He’s the best part of this book. It’s all over the place. I felt like it didn’t really know where it was going, or what it wanted. The time skipping wasn’t great for me either. I would’ve liked to have seen more in those periods.
It says it can be read as a stand-alone, as I did, but I don’t think it’s best read this way. All in all, this isn’t a great book, and not one I would recommend.
