Matriarch: A Memoir
by Tina Knowles
DID NOT FINISH: 30%
I'm sorry, Ms. Tina. I gave it my very best but I'm ultimately bored with this memoir. I don't think the writing style is for me in this cade. I've read a few memoirs that throughly entertained me, even through the hard to stomach bits. Tina's prose is as sultry and slow as the way she speaks and the Southern culture she comes from.
One thing's for certain, she undoubtedly sets the tone for future events in her life. She's always been who she was, even at a young age, and she makes that clear. What I did read was intriguing enough at some parts, I'm just not absorbed enough to slog through any longer.
