I loved my time with this book! I read it over five days and by the end I felt attached to all the characters - even Merritt! Who I found very annoying to begin with but she grew on me. If you’re looking for a book filled with an abundance of spooky shenanigans and beautiful queer rep, you’ve come to the right place. Halloween may be over, but the creepy delights of this book will endure year-round!

It’s chunky (640ish pages) but it’s not one of those big books where you’re constantly checking to see how close you are to the end. You just get swept up in all the storylines and before you know it, it’s coming to a close. I loved that it flitted back and forth between past and present storylines, both of which held my attention fully.

My one criticism is that I think the yellow jackets were a bit over the top - they were important to the story but just a lighter sprinkling of yellow jackets would have been just as effective in my eyes.

I realise I’ve done that thing again where I don’t mention the plot at all - but isn’t that what Google is for anyway 😌 Highly recommend this one if you’re looking for something to sink your teeth into!
