Neil deGrasse Tyson recommends that everyone read the Bible "to learn that it's easier to be told by others what to think and believe than it is to think for yourself."
I read this book over the course of several years. I started this book as a spiritual person. Halfway through I identified as an atheist. By the end, I found myself fervently hoping that the God in this wretched book does not exist, because the only cruelty deeper than his own is that of his followers.
