Honestly, I'm surprised the ratings are so high. Did we finish reading the same book? It was a slow start, a horrible narrator, and a terrible ending that left me questioning why I even plowed through. The small lake town, the weird camp/retreat setting, and the billionaire family are all written in a way that feels exaggerated and unrealistic at best or lazy at worst. And don't get me started on the way Frank repeatedly treats Abigail so dismissively while also putting his psychopathic daughter on a pedestal. The ending? "Can I stay five more minutes?" I yeeted my book across my bed. Be so for real, Frank.

One star for giving me enough hope to read the whole thing, and 1 star for Abigail, who deserves better than any of these people. How was Frank's sister allowed to be a foster parent in the first place?! Oh my god, I'm just getting myself worked up again.

Loved Hidden Pictures, could have skipped this one. Justice for Abigail.
