I wanted to love this book. I honestly tried so hard to fall in love with it, but.....Not a chance.
I am debating with myself if it's worth 2 or 3 stars right now. I'm just glad I didn't physically buy this book.
The Hating Game is supposed to be an 'enemies to lovers,' but there's almost no angst, no sabotaging, no fights, no angrily confessing their feelings or anything that makes this trope so good. Lucy is literally in love with him after 1/3 of the book?! Nopes, not a chance. I was hoping for a big moment of sabotage while they competed for the same position, especially after Joshua took a day off and had the strange calls.
I was disappointed.
ALSO, the smut in this book?? Did a 13-year-old write that part because it was so cheap. They had all this sexual tension built up from the start, they tease each other and take it slow- which usually ends in hot and steamy sex, but the smut was just "eh."
