I think I wanted a little more story line/murder mystery development and a little less smut? I got hooked in the first half, but lost it around the halfway point. And then it was  not a lot of plot movement, and the all of the sudden, everything is happening.

I also thought the kidnapping case would be a little more flushed out for the reader's perspective or even discussed between Myles and Taylor in-depth. I don't know if I missed something but I didn't see a clear connection to why that one kidnapping case haunts him so much.

Overall, cute romance/murder mystery with a quintessential grumpy/sunshine trope.
